At Vía Orgánica, nutrition is an integral part of the Organic Movement. Fruits and vegetables grown without agro-toxins are important for a healthy body and life. But knowing exactly what to eat is more complicated then you imagine. In order to help you made appropriate specific decisions for your diet needs and so that your consumption is responsible and also contributes to your mental health, Vía Orgánica joins with the Biblioteca to offer classes in nutrition each week by our nutritionist Ana María Quispe.
Ana María completed her degree and practical studies in the Human Ecology, Diet and Health Studies at the State University of Montclair in New Jersey. She has twice been recognized by the North American Association of Dieticians, in 1998 and 2000, and has wide experience in the treatment of diseases acquired during her work as a clinical dietitian in various hospitals and health centers in New York and New Jersey.
For Ana María nutrition is the ‘science of human development’ as it has developed during the past 30 years. She will explain how understanding this science is imperative to understand and remediate many physical, mental, environmental and economic problems that affect us today due to nutrition.
The classes are offered every Monday beginning January 11 until the end of April from 3-5 p.m. in English. The cost is 50 pesos per class. The classes are repeated in Spanish on Thursdays at the same time.
