Casita Linda

Building Hope One House at a Time

Casita Linda is a housing program that provides a decent house for those families living in extreme poverty in the rural communities in the Municipality of San Miguel. They build adobe houses with the active participation of the recipients, a team of three workers, and volunteers.

CEDESA is a grassroots campesino organization addressing land and water issues,
eco-technologies, organic farming and soil conservation, alternative and natural health,
cooperative agricultural production, community marketing, and rural tourism. Sustainable
development and eco-technology projects include rainwater-harvesting, gray-water recycling,
ecological dry toilets, drip irrigation systems and wood-saving stoves. Their
Tierra Generosa project produces and markets locally produced organic foods.

Vía Orgánica A.C. is an non-profit organization in San Miguel de
Allende in support of health, justice, sustainability, peace and democracy.
This sister organization of Organic Consumers Association (OCA),
a national network of organic consumers in the United States,
has organic grocery stores in Querétaro and San Miguel de Allende
as well as an organic farm and conference center outside Atotonilco.
